Nuclear option

From dKosopedia

The "nuclear option" is an effort in the Senate to change the rules to prevent the filibuster of judicial nominees. According to the Washington Post, Republican Senators would ask the President of the Senate Dick Cheney to rule that the filibuster of judicial nominees was unconstitutional. It would only take 51 votes to uphold the ruling. It would take 67 votes to change the current Senate rule, which permits filibuster.
