Reflexive
From dKosopedia
A reflexive data structure is one that contains its own meta information, available to be modified the same as any other information. Such structures can be extremely fragile and there are many "right ways" to organize them. Accordingly standards and conventions are extremely important.
Some reflexive conventions have been established to make it easy to track meta information:
- dKosopedia:itself
- dKosopedia:isn't or what dKosopedia is not
- dKosopedia:our or what dKosopedia controls
- dKosopedia:we or who controls dKosopedia
The tag:editor portal deals with meta tags, which are a less organized way Daily Kos uses to do some of the same things as reflexive wikis. In Wikipedia there is a special self-reference category to mark pages that must make a self-reference, but it provides no distinctions between the different kinds of self-references, which the reflexive conventions do very well.
