The 1996 Presidential election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 1996 between Incumbent Democratic President Bill Clinton, former Repubican Senator Bob Dole, and Reform Party candidate Ross Perot. Bill Clinton won the election by 8.5% over his main competitor, Bob Dole.
