General

Hi, you're doing great work, but you're using too many capital letters in page names, making them difficult to link to. Please don't capitalize page names of generic terms like voting rights organization, because it makes it impossible to link neatly like that... Anonymous troll 15:31, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

See dKosopedia:page name issue and other dKosopedia:naming outlines, but especially conserve capitals.

Obviously, if some group has a specific name, then it's capitalized because it's a proper name. Anonymous troll 15:31, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

Will change those names when I have a chance. Thanks for the friendly request. A tip for whoever posted the comments on those discussion pages: "unhelpful names" is much better than "worst names in the world". I made the change.

Okay, I went ahead and did a massive renaming. --AlanF 16:57, 26 June 2006 (PDT)

Washington Fraud

Good catch. I missed the misspelling. Chadlupkes 12:20, 2 July 2006 (PDT)

Alan, good work. You're now a sysop, which means you can protect and unprotect pages, move pages, and edit certain templates. --Centerfielder 12:30, 28 September 2006 (PDT)

Amen to that. I really appreciate your work on voting integrity. --Corncam 13:09, 28 September 2006 (PDT)

Wow, thanks, C&C! I promise to use my superpowers for good. AlanF 14:05, 28 September 2006 (PDT)

Bill pages

Alan, I noticed you've been creating some articles for congressional bills (e.g. H.R.811). I've been making stub pages for bills by bulk import from thomas.gov, but they can be hard to find via search unless you know the exact name. The convention I've been using is to put a space between the abbreviation and the bill number, followed by a dash and the Congress number: H.R. 811-110. You can use these stub pages to build on. I've also made a current-status template for each bill that can be inserted in related pages, and that gets updated whenever I do an import from thomas. —Abou Ben Adhem 12:05, 10 February 2007 (PST)

Sorting tables

I was curious if Dkospedia had the sorting ability on tables similiar to Wikipedia. Andrew Sylvia 21:12, 24 November 2008 (EST)

I'm not sure what Wikipedia has. I'll have to check. I do know that with the Firefox TableTools extension, you can sort tables within your browser. --AlanF 00:48, 25 November 2008 (EST)
Will take a look at this link tomorrow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Sorting
Answer: Yes, you can. I made the List of progressive radio stations sortable. Take a look at recent changes to that page if you like. Thanks for tipping me off to this functionality! --AlanF 12:29, 25 November 2008 (EST)
Not a problem! One thing though, I was curious if there were any administrators here on the dkospedia? The place seems pretty empty. I used to be on Wikipedia often, this is a welcome change of pace. Andrew Sylvia 04:24, 26 November 2008 (EST)
There are indeed administrators. Centerfielder is the main admin (and the one who set up the wiki in the first place). There are others, but I don't know offhand how I would find a list. Have you already tried getting in touch with Centerfielder? --AlanF 23:55, 27 November 2008 (EST)
I'll check with him, but it's lucky that the editing on this wiki is so light or I never would have seen this page! I'm curious because I used to be a Wikipedian and it seems that the customs there are far different than those here, if there are any left, they seem to have decayed with the disuse of this wiki. Andrew Sylvia 00:56, 28 November 2008 (EST)
If you're up for it, let's chat about the wiki sometime. My e-mail address is alanfordean AT-SIGN yahoo. --AlanF 10:39, 28 November 2008 (EST)
Will do, I didn't see this until now, my talk page alert didn't go off. Andrew Sylvia 17:39, 3 December 2008 (EST)

The Daily Update

Gotcha, I just go by the recent changes for the daily dkos update. Andrew Sylvia 21:44, 3 December 2008 (EST)

Who Is Active On This Wiki?

I'm curious if it would be possible to create a community here. Please respond on my talk page. Andrew Sylvia 18:59, 27 November 2008 (EST)
