Daniel Edward Lungren (born September 22, 1946), a Republican from California, was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2004, representing the state's 3rd Congressional district, located in the suburbs of Sacramento. He had previously served in Congress from 1978 to 1988, and then served as the Attorney General of California from 1991 to 1998. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Governor in 1998.
Dan Lungren is a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on the Budget.
Lundgren voted against the environment on five recent important legislative roll call votes:
- Energy (House R.C. 132);
- Artic Refuge (House R.C. 666);
- Environmental Funding (House R.C. 88);
- Coastal Protection (House R.C. 192) and
- Fuel Efficiency (House R.C. 121).
