- Candidates:
- Travis W. Childers (D) - website - Winner!
- Greg Davis (R) - website
- Dates:
- Primary - April 22, 2008
- Runoff - May 13, 2008
This is a very Republican district, but Childers edged out Davis in the primary. Unfornately, he didn't quite get 50%, so there was a runoff election. Childers won the runoff by 53-47%, even after a heavy negative ad attack.
This election has been described as "seismic" by reporters.
It also left scorch marks on Republicans.
