The 2004 election was, again, the "most important election in our lifetime". This was the re-election of George W. Bush, and the Democratic Party tried to get organized around Senator John Kerry. It didn't work.
However, the 2003-04 Democratic Primary season did accomplish what 2 decades of the Reagan revolution had failed to do. It relaunched the overall progressive movement. Thank you, Howard Dean.
